“Our kids are our future,” First Lady Hoeven said. “KidsDay® encourages parents and adults to share in activities that build meaningful experiences and create lasting memories.”
Hoeven’s proclamation coincides with the celebration of National KidsDay®, which was established last year by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and KidsPeace, as a day to foster relationships between adults and children by educating them about the importance of spending meaningful time together. First Lady Laura Bush is the honorary chair of the 2002 celebration.
“This is a terrific opportunity for the citizens of North Dakota to recognize the contributions our kids make in our everyday lives,” Governor Hoeven said. “Our kids are our top priority in North Dakota - KidsDay® is a day to show them that.”
First Lady Mikey L. Hoeven will greet kids and hand out cookies from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Bismarck Parks and Recreation Booth at Capital A’fair.
