Hoeven Appoints Citizens To Serve State
BISMARCK, N.D. - Governor Hoeven recently appointed several citizens to serve on state boards:
JoAnn Sund of Fargo has been appointed to the Board of Nursing. Helen Melland of Grand Forks has been reappointed to the Board. Both will serve four-year terms. Sund is the Operations Support Services Manager at MeritCare; Melland is a professor at the University of North Dakota College of Nursing. The Board’s responsibilities include discipline, complaints, enforcing the Nurse Practitioners Act and setting qualifications for nurses.
Dr. Craig Lambrecht of Bismarck has been appointed to a four-year term on the Board of Podiatric Medicine. Lambrecht is an emergency room physician at Medcenter One Health Systems. The Board licenses podiatrists in North Dakota and handles disciplinary actions.
Jay Seibel of Beulah has been appointed to a four-year term on the Board of Funeral Service. Seibel owns Seibel Funeral Home. The Board regulates embalming and funeral home practices and licensing.
James Kraemer of West Fargo, Beth Thune of Bismarck and Steven Alt of New Leipzig have been reappointed to three-year terms on the Board of Examiners on Audiology and Speech Language Pathology. Kraemer is a hearing aid specialist at Kraemer Hearing Service; Thune is a speech language pathologist at Medcenter One Health Systems; Alt is a farmer. The Board examines and licenses qualified audiologists and speech pathologists, regulates the profession, and adopts and enforces standards of ethical practice.
Meribeth Bjoralt of Fargo has been appointed to a five-year term on the State Examining Committee for Physical Therapists. Bjoralt is a physical therapist at MeritCare. The Board licenses physical therapists and physical therapy assistants.
Dr. Frank Walker of New Rockford has been appointed to a three-year term on the Board of Veterinary Examiners. Walker is a veterinarian at Flickertail Veterinary Service. The Board licenses veterinarians and veterinarian technicians, and reviews complaints.
