Hoeven Invites North Dakotans To Participate In Healthy North Dakota Summit
BISMARCK, N.D. - Governor John Hoeven today invited the state’s citizens to participate in the Healthy North Dakota Summit via a live broadcast on the Internet.
The Healthy North Dakota Summit will be held Aug. 22 and 23, 2002, at the State Capitol in Bismarck. At the summit, representatives from private businesses, public agencies, universities and volunteer organizations will discuss promoting wellness in homes, schools and workplaces. Interested North Dakotans who logon to the state health department website can view the presentations live and provide comments and feedback. Input received will serve as a framework for a statewide comprehensive wellness plan implemented at the local level by public- and private-sector partners.
“Healthy North Dakota is an initiative for everyone,” Hoeven said. “To develop a comprehensive wellness plan, we need the ideas and visions of people from across the state. I invite each North Dakotan to use the technology of the Internet to share those ideas and visions. Together, we can build a Healthy North Dakota.”
To participate, people can logon to the summit website at www.health.state.nd.us/healthynd. The website includes instructions for viewing the presentations and providing feedback. To ensure their computers have the software needed to view the presentations, participants should visit the site and view the test video prior to the summit. After the summit, a recording of the webcast will be available for viewing, and online comments will be accepted until Aug. 30, 2002.
