Hoeven Commends MDU, Dakota Power I For New Wind Farm Partnership

BISMARCK, N.D. - Governor John Hoeven issued the following statement in response to today’s announcement that Montana-Dakota Utilities, Co. (MDU) and Dakota I Power Partners will develop a 20-megawatt wind energy farm in Dickey County.

“Energy is one of the pillars on which we are building our future in North Dakota, Hoeven said. “The economic impact of wind power is significant. North Dakota is nationally recognized as having the greatest potential of any state in our capacity to generate energy through wind power.

“Dakota I Power and MDU are forging a partnership that advances our multi-resources state energy plan, enabling us to develop the kind of diversified energy industry that makes sense for North Dakota. Their partnership will provide clean and reliable power for our state and region, jobs for our people and an economic stimulus for Dickey County and North Dakota.”
