Gov. Kelly Armstrong signed legislation that bans the sale, possession and use of synthetic kratom products in North Dakota and restricts the sale of natural kratom products to those ages 21 and older while also requiring accurate labeling.

 

Gov. Kelly Armstrong delivered his State of the State Address to a special session of the 69th Legislative Assembly, calling upon lawmakers to ban the unregulated drug kratom following his executive action last month to temporarily prohibit sales of the drug.

Gov. Kelly Armstrong thanked President Donald Trump for approving the governor’s request for a presidential major disaster declaration for severe storms June 7-9 that caused millions of dollars in damage in North Dakota. 

BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. Kelly Armstrong and Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring joined the State Water Commission in announcing an additional $2 million for the Drought Disaster Livestock Water Supply Project Assistance Program, as demand for the program has outstripped the initial $2 million approved last week. 

Gov. Kelly Armstrong has directed all U.S. and North Dakota flags to be flown at half-staff until sunset Tuesday, Sept. 1, and encourages North Dakotans to do the same at their homes and businesses, as a mark of respect for the memory of legendary country music singer-songwriter and philanthropist Dolly Parton.
