BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. Doug Burgum today appointed Mona Tedford Rindy of Portland, N.D., to chair the Board of Trustees of the North Dakota Public Employees Retirement System (NDPERS) and thanked outgoing chair Mark Dosch for his service.
Rindy’s appointment is effective immediately. She currently serves as senior vice president and region manager at Bremer Wealth in Fargo and will retire from that position on April 1. She previously worked as a wealth management and trust officer for Wells Fargo.
Rindy earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and business administration from Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM) and a master of business administration degree from North Dakota State University in Fargo. She is a certified financial planner and a certified trust and financial advisor (inactive).
“Our most valuable resource in state government is our team members, and Mona has the leadership skills and financial expertise we need to provide a strong retirement and benefits system that will help us attract and retain the talent necessary for state government to provide exceptional service to North Dakota citizens,” Burgum said.
Rindy previously served on the MSUM Foundation Board of Directors and is a member and past president of the Fargo Lions Club. She also has served on the boards of the Fargo Moorhead Area Foundation and YWCA Cass Clay.
“Helping people achieve financial wellness, especially in planning for retirement, is my passion,” Rindy said. “I strongly believe in our North Dakota community and look forward to serving the hard-working members of the NDPERS system.”
Burgum expressed his deepest appreciation for Dosch’s service to NDPERS. Dosch was appointed chair in August 2017 and had previously served in the state House of Representatives from 2001 to 2016.
The nine-member NDPERS Board of Trustees consists of the chairman appointed by the governor, one member appointed by the Attorney General’s staff, an appointee of the State Health Officer, three members elected by the active membership of NDPERS, one member elected by the retired public employees, and two members appointed by legislative management.
