BISMARCK, N.D. – The North Dakota Children’s Cabinet will embark on a statewide “road show” Friday to share its findings, celebrate regional successes, gather additional stakeholder feedback and build awareness of its priorities and overarching goal of a seamless network of services and supports that meets the needs of every child and family.
The schedule includes stops in 11 North Dakota cities, kicking off with meetings today in Fargo, West Fargo and Wahpeton. The public is welcome to attend, provide input and learn more about the work of the Children’s Cabinet, which released its annual report last month.
The Children’s Cabinet was created in 2019 to coordinate broad-based leadership across programs, agencies, branches of government and tribal nations to meet the needs of children in North Dakota. The 15-member cabinet includes legislators, representatives from various state agencies, the Governor’s Office, North Dakota Supreme Court and tribal nations, along with a parent, private service provider and other community partners. State lawmakers passed legislation in 2025 to move the administration of the Children’s Cabinet from the Department of Health and Human Services into the Office of the Governor.
“This road show is designed to help ensure transparency, strengthen partnerships and continue building momentum toward a more coordinated and responsive system of care for North Dakota’s children and families,” said Lt. Gov. Michelle Strinden, who serves on the Children’s Cabinet and will participate in Friday’s visits.
