Gov. Kelly Armstrong has directed all government agencies to fly the U.S. and North Dakota flags at half-staff Sunday, May 4, and encourages North Dakotans to do the same at their homes and businesses, in honor of Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend in North Dakota and the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service on Sunday.

Gov. Kelly Armstrong released a statement regarding the passing of Pope Francis, leader of the Roman Catholic Church, who died Monday at age 88.

Gov. Kelly Armstrong has directed all U.S. and North Dakota flags to be flown at half-staff from dawn to dusk on Friday, Feb. 28, and encourages North Dakotans to do the same at their homes and businesses, in honor and remembrance of state Rep. Josh Christy of Fargo. Christy died Tuesday, Feb. 18, at age 43.

Gov. Kelly Armstrong directed the U.S. and North Dakota flags to be flown at full staff on Jan. 20 at the North Dakota Capitol and all state buildings in celebration of the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump. Flags should return to half-staff on Jan. 21 and remain at half-staff through Jan. 28 in honor of former President Jimmy Carter, who died Dec. 29.
