Gov. Doug Burgum released a statement regarding the passing of longtime North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem. Stenehjem was the longest-serving attorney general in North Dakota history, having held the position for 21 years.

Gov. Doug Burgum has directed all government agencies to fly the United States and North Dakota flags at half-staff Thursday, Jan. 13, and encourages North Dakotans to do the same at their homes and businesses, in honor of former U.S. Sen. Harry Reid of Nevada on the day of his interment.

In accordance with a proclamation issued by President Joe Biden, Gov. Doug Burgum has directed all government agencies to fly the United States and North Dakota flags at half-staff until sunset Sunday, May 30, and encourages North Dakotans to do the same at their homes and businesses, in honor and remembrance of the victims of Wednesday’s shooting in San Jose, Calif.

Gov. Doug Burgum has directed all government agencies to fly the United States and North Dakota flags at half-staff on Wednesday, May 26, and encourages North Dakotans to do the same at their homes and businesses, as a mark of respect for West Fargo Police Department Lt. Adam Gustafson, who died while on duty May 18 at the age of 40. 

Gov. Doug Burgum has directed the United States and North Dakota flags to remain at full staff on Saturday, May 15, Peace Officers Memorial Day, in accordance with an updated proclamation today from President Joe Biden. An earlier presidential proclamation had ordered the flags at half-staff.
