Gov. Doug Burgum and Lt. Gov. Brent Sanford joined leaders of the five tribal nations that share geography with North Dakota for a ceremony honoring and celebrating their tribal flags, now on display in the state Capitol for the first time as directed by the governor during his State of the State address on Jan. 3.

BISMARCK, N.D. – North Dakotans are reminded that all United States and North Dakota flags should be returned to full-staff at 12:01 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 30. Flags have been flown at half-staff since the passing of former President George H.W. Bush on Nov. 30.

Gov. Doug Burgum released a statement on the passing of President George H.W. Bush, who died Friday, Nov. 30, at the age of 94. Flags also are to be flown at half-staff immediately.
