BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. Kelly Armstrong will testify Wednesday to a U.S. Senate committee about the importance of transportation infrastructure to rural states like North Dakota as work continues on the federal Surface Transportation Reauthorization Bill.
Armstrong will testify to the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works at the invitation of its chair, Sen. Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia, and Sen. Kevin Cramer of North Dakota, a committee member. Armstrong will request that the next federal highway bill continue robust funding for transportation infrastructure – with maximum flexibility for states in how they deploy the dollars – and emphasize the need for permitting and regulatory reform to reduce project delays and costs.
The hearing will be livestreamed at a link here.
