BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. Kelly Armstrong and members of his Cabinet will meet with leaders and members of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians (TMBCI) on Thursday in Belcourt as part of his commitment to strengthen state-tribal partnerships and visit all five tribal nations in North Dakota during his first year in office.

Armstrong will meet with tribal leaders, state agency leaders and state legislators at Sky Dancer Event Center to discuss goals and hold breakout sessions on various topics. The North Dakota Indian Affairs Commission is facilitating the visits to introduce the new administration to tribal nations and build stronger relationships and effective partnerships.

Later in the day, Armstrong will help break ground on a new Military Gallery at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum. The ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m. CT Thursday at the Heritage Center’s outdoor Prairie Amphitheater, 612 E. Boulevard Ave., Bismarck.
