Gov. Doug Burgum has issued a proclamation this week declaring April 21-27 as Finish the FAFSA Week in North Dakota. Along with the North Dakota University System (NDUS), Bank of North Dakota (BND), North Dakota Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NDASFAA) and Department of Public Instruction (DPI), Burgum is urging all high school seniors and their families to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2024-25 academic year.

Gov. Doug Burgum released a statement regarding the passing of former North Dakota Lt. Gov. Lloyd Omdahl, who served as lieutenant governor from 1987 to 1992 with Gov. George Sinner, and as state tax commissioner from 1963 to 1966. Omdahl died Sunday, April 14, at age 93.

Gov. Doug Burgum announced the retirement of Maj. Gen. Alan Dohrmann, adjutant general of the North Dakota National Guard and director of the North Dakota Department of Emergency Services, effective Sept. 30, thanking him for his steadfast leadership and more than 40 years of military service.
