Burgum, Goehring to host town hall drought meeting in Carson

Gov. Burgum and Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring will host a town hall meeting Tuesday with farmers, ranchers and other area residents in Carson to discuss the challenges created by worsening drought conditions, review the state’s response and answer questions. More than half of the state is in extreme or severe drought, including almost all of western North Dakota, according to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor.
Burgum, Goehring to hold town hall meeting on drought

North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring and other state officials will hold a town hall meeting with ranchers, farmers and area residents Wednesday in Golden Valley, N.D., to discuss the significant challenges posed by extreme drought conditions and wildfires, as well as the state’s response to both. Officials also will unveil additional steps being taken to provide relief to livestock producers.

Governor’s Summit on Innovative Education

Doug Burgum is inviting teachers, students, education advocates, innovators and community leaders to participate in North Dakota’s first Governor’s Summit on Innovative Education next month in Bismarck. The daylong summit will take place June 8 at Legacy High School in collaboration with the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction and the North Dakota University System.
