 Gov. Burgum applauded the decision by U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue authorizing emergency grazing on Conservation Reserve Program lands to assist livestock producers in drought-stricken areas of North Dakota.

Gov. Burgum today declared a drought emergency that allows the State Water Commission to reactivate a water supply assistance program for livestock producers in 26 counties experiencing moderate to extreme drought.

Gov. Burgum thanked the members of the State Water Commission for their decades of service and contributions to water resource management in North Dakota.

Gov. Doug Burgum today directed all government agencies to fly the United States and North Dakota flags at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Saturday, June 24, in observance of the interment of fallen Gunners Mate 1st Class Arthur C. Neuenschwander.

At the first Governor's Summit on Innovative Education, State Superintendent Kirsten Baesler, educators and state lawmakers expressed optimism that a new state law will foster a culture of innovation that will inspire students and educators and position North Dakota as a leader in education.

During a roundtable meeting with President Donald Trump on Thursday, Gov. Burgum said “innovation, not regulation” is the right direction for rebuilding and expanding the nation’s infrastructure.
