BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. Doug Burgum issued the following statement today after President Donald Trump signed the 2018 Farm Bill into law.
“The new farm bill renews our country’s commitment to agriculture and rural America, the heart of our nation. American farmers feed the world and are leaders in innovation, and their success strengthens our entire country. Stronger farm support programs, improved crop insurance, increased access to rural broadband, further support for exports, enhanced SNAP program integrity and crucial resources for combatting the opioid crisis promise an even brighter future for our farmers and our nation. Lt. Gov. Sanford and I are deeply grateful for Senators John Hoeven and Heidi Heitkamp and Congressman Kevin Cramer for their integral role in the creation of this legislation as members of the farm bill conference committee. We also thank President Donald Trump for strongly supporting the bill throughout the entire legislative process and signing it into law.”
