BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. Doug Burgum issued the following statement today after President Donald Trump signed the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada and President Enrique Peña Nieto of Mexico.

“Canada and Mexico are North Dakota’s largest trading partners, representing nearly $5 billion in annual exports, and this pact is a great step toward revitalizing and modernizing trade relations between our countries. This agreement, which we urge Congress to approve, will advance free and fair trade and create economic benefits for our state and our country. We’re grateful that the Trump administration continues to advocate for North Dakota and U.S. interests at the international level, and we look forward to the opportunities this pact will bring to our industries, farmers and ranchers, who are the best in the world and will continue to prove it on a level playing field.”
