Burgum to host Governor's Summit on Innovative Education Aug. 14-15; nominations sought for awards, speakers
Gov. Doug Burgum will host the third annual Governor’s Summit on Innovative Education on Aug. 14-15 in Jamestown, N.D., and is accepting nominations for speakers and awards to be presented during the summit.
In addition to the innovative instructional programing that will continue to be highlighted, this year’s summit has partnered with the North Dakota Department of Human Services’ Behavioral Health Division to focus on student mental health, addiction and prevention.
To nominate someone as a speaker at the summit, fill out a nomination form by June 14.
Nominations also are being accepted for the #InnovativeND education awards, which recognize the great work being done by educators to prepare students for success in a global economy being driven by rapid technological change. By recognizing and sharing best practices across the state, North Dakota can celebrate the national-caliber experts working in its schools and encourage innovation as the rule rather than the exception. Excellence will be recognized at the student, classroom, building and district levels. #InnovativeND award nominations may be submitted here. The deadline for submission is June 14.
